Interested in piano or guitar lessons?

I provide piano and guitar lessons in the Washington, D. C. metropolitan area. If you can devote at least 30 minutes, 5 days a week, practicing assignments and you can get to your lessons in Cheverly, Maryland on time, then read on! I also teach music theory. In addition to teaching classical technique through the assignment of scales and arpeggios, I teach music theory as well as jazz theory. I assign works for students based on their experience, developmental needs, and personal musical interests. I accept piano and guitar students from the age of 10 to seniors. For younger piano students I typically will assign them pieces from the Piano Adventures method books. All piano students will use the Hanon Virtuoso pianist book. Guitar students begin with; learning to strum with and without a pick open string chords, and they will learn to run scales including the chromatic and blues scales. Students must have access to their own instruments in order to diligently practice their assignments each week.

Please note that I offer a 10% discount to clients who pay for four lessons at a time.

All clients begin with a one-time $15 non-refundable deposit, payable through the music lesson payment portal here at Washentree.com. This is to confirm your commitment to the first scheduled lesson. If you have to cancel, the deposit will not be refunded to you. At the time of the first lesson you pay the remaining balance owed. If after the first lesson you wish to continue with recurring lessons, you would schedule and pay for two lessons at a time, unless you opt for a discounted rate by paying for (4) lessons at once. You can schedule one lesson per week or one lesson every two weeks. Please note that there are no refunds for lessons you may cancel unless there was an extreme emergency that left you no other choice but to cancel. For example, an accident, Covid-19 diagnosis, or an extreme weather event.

Lesson rates and options are as follows:

• 30 minute lesson once a week (TBA) $35.00

• After the first lesson you would schedule and pay for two 30 minute lessons at a time. Go to the “music lesson payment portal” here at Washentree.com to pay $70.00 for two lessons

• 45 minute lesson once a week (TBA) $50.00

• After the first lesson you would schedule and pay for two 45 minute lessons at a time. Go to the “music lesson payment portal” here at Washentree.com to pay $100.00 for two lessons

• 60 minute lesson once a week (TBA) $65.00

• After the first lesson you would schedule and pay for two 60 minute lessons at a time. Go to the “music lesson payment portal” here at Washentree.com to pay $130.00 for two lessons

Due to the Continuing Covid-19 pandemic

As of July 2022 neither I nor my partner Rachael have tested positive for Covid-19. Any student or accompanying guests to our home must show proof of vaccination before scheduling and payment or be prepared to wear a face mask for the entirety of the visit. If you are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms or have been in contact with a person who has Covid-19, please notify me. We will either postpone and/or cancel lessons.
